successful demonstration inside the camp (1st brief report)

around 200 people, mainly selforganised refugees, have participated in the protest in brandenburg, firstly against a camp in bahnsdorf, later on in a demonstration in senftenberg in front of the foreign office.
the main target, the refugee camp in bahnsdorf, is not a closed camp, but it is a "jungle camp", isolated in the forest, where the asylumseekers -according the german asylum law - are forced to live under inhuman conditions.
"european homecare", the company, which is running the camp, tried to make all inmates afraid of the coming demonstration by telling lies about "anti-lager-action-tour". and they decided not to allow more than 30 people to come into the camp-area and to visit the refugees during the demonstration.

but a well organised and determined demonstration could (literally) overcome these obstacles:a few private securities, who tried to keep the gates of the camp closed, have not had any chance, when more and more anti-lager-activists pushed forward... and the whole demonstration including the loud-speaker-car entered the area.
dozens of policemen came to late and could not do more than to try to prevent that the demonstration arrive the last and biggest building of the camp. but in the same moment, when police try to block the demonstrators,three activists appeared on the roof of the same building and let down a huge banner: no lager - freedom of movement!
police and security were surprised and helpless, all demonstrators excited, and many inmates of the camp came out and have been more and more interested in the manifestation and further communication.
finally also around 50 asylum-seekers from the camp joined the demonsteration out of the camp and to the next city for a protest in front of the foreign office.

In Bahnsdorf (Neu-Seeland), Landkreis Oberspreewald-Lausitz.

Millionen Menschen sind in der so genannten Dritten Welt durch koloniale Gewalt und deren Folgen ums Leben gekommen. Auch heute noch werden Menschen in diesen Regionen ausgebeutet, täglich sind sie den Auswirkungen kapitalistischer Praktiken ausgesetzt. Millionen Menschen fliehen vor Kriegen, sexistischer, politischer und anderer Verfolgung oder weil ihnen ihre Lebensgrundlagen entzogen werden. Die reichen kapitalistischen Länder schotten sich ab und rüsten ihre Grenzen immer weiter auf, so dass es kaum noch eine Möglichkeit gibt, ohne Todesgefahr nach Europa zu gelangen. Diejenigen, die es dennoch bis in die westlichen Länder schaffen, sind mit rassistischen Angriffen und Kontrollen konfrontiert; sie werden in unmenschlichen Asyllagern untergebracht, oder gleich festgenommen und abgeschoben. Der Aktionstag gegen das Lager in Bahnsdorf wird organisiert vom Anti-Lager-Netzwerk, an dem verschiedenste Gruppen beteiligt sind - viele von ihnen aus der Selbstorganisation von Flüchtlingen und MigrantInnen. Bereits 2003 organisierten wir Aktionstage gegen das Abschiebelager in Nürnberg/Fürth. 2004 waren wir 17 Tage lang als Anti-Lager-action-Tour unterwegs - mit Aktionen an sechs verschiedenen Lagern. Es war auch dieser Widerstand, der zur beschleunigten Schließung des “Dschungelheims” Tramm in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern geführt hat.
In Bahnsdorf (Neu-Seeland), Landkreis Oberspreewald-Lausitz, leben zahlreiche AsylbewerberInnen bereits seit vielen Jahren. In ihren Heimatländern mussten sie ihre Häuser, Städte, Arbeitsplätze sowie ihre sozialen Umfelder verlassen; auch ihre Kinder mussten die Schulen verlassen. Heute werden sie gezwungen, in diesem menschenverachtenden Flüchtlingslager zu leben. All dies geschieht einzig, um Flüchtlinge auszuschliessen, abzuschrecken, abzuwerten, auszugrenzen, zu demütigen, zu frustrieren, zu nötigen Deutschland zu verlassen, einzusperren, zu isolieren, zu ignorieren, zu illegalisieren, zu unterdrücken, zu verwalten, zu verfolgen, psychologisch zu martern...
Das Lager befindet sich auf einem verfallenen Ex-Militärgelände mitten im Wald, umgeben von Landminen. Die AsylbewerberInnen werden gezwungen, ein Dokument zu unterschreiben, in dem jede Zuständigkeit des Sozialamtes im Falle eines Unfalls durch herumliegende Minen ausgeschlossen wird. Die AsylbewerberInnen in Bahnsdorf werden in Containern konzentriert wie Waren, die auf ihre Verschiffung warten. Ein Friedhof und eine stinkende Schlachterei sind die einzigen Nachbarn.
Die Ausländerbehörde in Senftenberg verlängert die Duldung für die meisten AsylbewerberInnen um höchstens sechs Wochen, manchmal nur für drei Tage. Seit dem 1. Januar 2005 stellt sie den AsylbewerberInnen mit geduldetem Status keine einzige Erlaubnis aus, den Landkreis zu verlassen, mit der Begründung, dass das neue Gesetz dies verbieten würde. Die AsylbewerberInnen in diesem Landkreis müssen regelmäßig zu Inspektionen und Kontrollen erscheinen, von Zeit zu Zeit werden sie verhört, werden durch Befragungen ausgelaugt und unter Druck gesetzt, Deutschland zu verlassen. Die AsylbewerberInnen in diesem Landkreis leben unter permanent hohem Stress. Der psychologische Druck und die massiven Restriktionen des Lebens, verbunden mit der starken rassistischen und abwertenden Stimmung in Senftenberg, sind schwer zu ertragen.
Anlässlich des zweiten europaweiten Aktionstages für Bewegungsfreiheit und Bleiberecht am 2. April 2005 (beschlossen auf dem Europäischen Sozialforum in London), bringen die AsylbewerberInnen dieses Landkreises zusammen mit dem Anti-Lager-Netzwerk nachdrücklich die unmenschlichen und nicht aushaltbaren Bedingungen ans Licht der Öffentlichkeit, unter denen sie leben müssen.
· Öffentlich fordern wir die Schliessung dieses menschenverachtenden Flüchtlingslagers. Jeder Mensch hat das Recht, dort zu leben, wo immer er oder sie es will.
· Diese Demonstration ist ein Kampf dafür, die Würde zurückzugewinnen. Es ist ein Kampf gegen rassistische Gesetzgebung, gegen Verfolgung durch spezielle Gesetze, welche Flüchtlingen das Recht auf Bewegungsfreiheit verweigern, welche ihnen die (finanziellen) Mittel zum Leben minimieren und welche sie im alltäglichen Leben stigmatisieren.

Wir sind solidarisch verbunden in unseren Kämpfen für Befreiung. Unser Widerstand ist gegen alle Formen menschenverachtender Flüchtlingslager gerichtet (ob in Europa, Afrika oder wo auch immer), gegen Abschiebung und gegen soziale Ausgrenzung.
Keine unmenschlichen Asyllager!! Nicht hier und nicht anderswo!!

Bahnsdorf (Neu-seeland) "Landkreis" Oberspreewald-Lautsitz.

In the so-called ”Third World,” millions of people have died as a result of colonial violence and its consequences. Today people in these regions are still exploited and exposed to the effects of capitalist policies. Millions of people flee from wars, sexist, political or other persecutions, or due to the fact that their livelihood has been shattered. The rich capitalist countries segregate and close up themselves, their borders are toughly militarised to the extent that there is no possibility to enter without being exposed to dangers of death. Those who succeed to arrive the western countries are faced with racist attacks, controls and are put into inhuman asylum camps, detained and deported. Others struggle to survive as undocumented persons under the most precarious (labour-)conditions.

The actionday against the Lager in Bahnsdorf is organized by the Anti-Lager-network in which different groups - amongst others several selforganizations of refugees and migrants - take part. Back in 2003, we organized action days against the detention centre in Nürnberg/Fürth. In 2004, we were on the road for 17 days as Anti-Lager-Action-Tour with actions at 6 different Lagers. It was also this resistance which helped to speed up the closure of the "jungle home" Tramm in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Of the asylum seekers residing in Bahnsdorf of the jurisdiction Oberspreewald-Lautsitz, many have lived there for a number of years. Originally they had to leave their homes, towns, jobs and social environments, their kids had to leave their schools. Today, they are all forced to live in this inhuman asylum camp where they are excluded- scared- discriminated against- humiliated-isolated-ignored-dehumanised-frustrated-pressurised to leave Germany-illegalised- managed in an oppressive manner-persecuted- and are tortured psychologically.

The asylum camp is located in the middle of the forest, in a dilapidated ex-military camp sorrounded by land mines. The asylum seekers are forced to sign a document disclaiming the responsibility of the social office in case of any accident by the sorrounding mines. The asylum seekers here are concentrated in containers like commodities awaiting shipment. A grave yard and a stinking butchery being the closest neighbours.

The Ausländerbehörde in Senftenberg prolongs the stay of most of the asylum seekers only for a maximum of 6 weeks and for others, 3 days. As of the 1st of January 2005, the Ausländerbehörde does not issue any permits to go out of the jurisdiction to asylum seekers with a tolerated stay, claiming that the new law forbids. The asylum seekers in this jurisdiction have to show up for inspections, and controls on a regular basis, from time to time they are interrogated, worn out by questioning sessions, and pressured into leaving Germany. The asylum seekers in this jurisdiction are permanently under a high level of stress. The psychological pressures and the massive restrictions in their lives coupled with the strong racist and highly discriminative sentiments in Senftenberg are hard to take.

- On the occasion of the European wide second day of action for freedom of movement and the right to stay on the 2nd of April 2005 (proposed during the European Social Forum in London), the asylum seekers of this jurisdiction alongside with the Anti-lager network, stand firm to bring to the public the inhuman and unbearable conditions under which asylum seekers in this jurisdiction are forced to live in.

- Publicly we call for the closure of this inhuman asylum camp. Every person has the right to live wherever he/she wants.
- This demonstration is a struggle to get back the dignity, a struggle against a racist legislation, the persecution through special laws that deny them the right to freedom of movement, minimise their means of existence, stigmatise them in everyday life.

We are united in solidarity in our struggles for liberation. Our resistance is against all forms of inhuman asylum camps (be it in Europe, Africa or where ever), against deportation, against social exclusion.

No inhuman asylum camps!!! Not here!!! Nor anywhere else!!!
