SPEECH at Second Conference on Libyan War Refugees in Hamburg - 8 February 2014
Dear fellow migrants, refugees, and friends from Caravan:
In behalf of our organization – Umangat-MIGRANTE in Rome, and the International Migrants Alliance-Europe chapter, (IMA-Europe) we express our warmest and heartfelt solidarity with your event today and with the just struggle of refugees spearheaded by the Libyan war refugees and the Caravan here in Germany.
I have been requested to share with you our experiences and standpoint on the issue of forced migration, the issue of refugees in Europe, the situation of Filipino and other migrants in Europe, and how we can resist the continuing imperialist-instigated wars mainly by the US and its NATO allies in Europe.
Lampedusa is not simply the horrendous event that happened recently in October where over 368 migrants were burned and drowned into the sea, but a painful icon of the plight of migrants, like me, who succumbed to a situation of no choice but to leave because of the imperialist aggression against our countries. I will first share with you the situation in the Philippines - why many Filipinos are being forced to migrate and then, the concrete situation in Italy particularly the exploitation of migrants and oppression of refugees.
The Refugee Resistance in Germany, 1994 - 2014
In 20 years of active resistance by The VOICE Refugee Forum (Germany) we have experienced that self-organized solidarity in unity is the wining key to the struggle of the oppressed people: It is our aim to fight and end the fear and insecurity of being a refugee here.
Substantial part of this has always been the fight to abolish the so called ,,Residenzpflicht" in Germany, to break the isolation of refugees and to close the lagers.

The Committee for the erection of an African memorial in Berlin (KADIB) organizes on 22.2.2014 the 8th memorial march in remembrance of the African victims of slave trade, slavery, colonialism and racist violence.
This memorial march was initiated in order to stress the claim for recognition of the crimes against black people/people of African descent (slavery, colonialism, genocide, prosecutions and forced sterilizations by the NS regime, racist murders).
We have been informed in Saalfeld today, that yesterday, a refugee died in a Asylheim refugee camp in Plauen, because the security didn't call the ambulance even other refugees ask him for help. after 2 hours the ambulance arrived but the man was dead. Today (Saturday) there will be a picket at 15pm and a demonstration on 16pm in Plauen. If you like to us, feel free to come.
Regarding the demo, it starts at 3pm, kasernenstrasse (picket) and 4pm demonstration at theaterplatz (city). More information will be published on the thevoiceforum.org in Solidarity and Participation.

In preparation for the next Nationwide Caravan meeting taking place in Berlin from the 14th-16th of March 2014 in Almende (Kottbusser Damm 25-26), we, different refugee and migrant political groups under the umbrella of the Caravan for the rights of refugees and migrants Berlin are organizing mobilization and solidarity events in Berlin.

It was around 22.30 o'clock in the evening of January 15th 2014, when a three-persons-family was deported from the refugee camp of Rockensußra to Macedonia. Neighbours reported that the chief of the foreigners' office came together with three policemen and told the concerned family to pack their things for their own deportation within a few minutes. Other inhabitants of the camp reported that the family already arrived at an airport in the morning of January 16th and that they were supposed to be deported by airplane with the destination of Skopje.
